James Ravinet is an artist and curator based in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, working across video, sound and research-led projects. His practice is primarily concerned with the politics of landscape, considering how access, extraction and history can be disrupted to generate or centre new perspectives.

He has worked with arts organisations including Focal Point Gallery, Big Screen Southend, Essex County Council, Firstsite, Arts Catalyst, Tate, YoHa, The Other MA (TOMA), and many more. In his time as Curator at Focal Point Gallery, he produced several ambitious contemporary art exhibitions, events, public art commissions, publications and additional strategic or institutional partnership projects.
