5 Rods of Soil was initially written to feature in a new publication that emerged from ‘Precarious straits ~ survival on Southend’s new coast, Southend-under-Sea’, a collaborative project from TOMA (The Other MA) and TOW (The Old Waterworks) in 2021. ‘Tender Order’ by Jade Montserrat, made with Jane Lawson and edited by Industria, centres ‘matters-of-care’, detailing aspects of self-care and the impacts to self-care made by environmental or socio-political frameworks.
